Student Visas

We can give students general advice about applying for a visa, but for more detailed information speak to your travel agency, or contact the British Embassy in your country. The UK Border Agency website is also very useful for prospective students: www.ukvisas.gov.uk.

Details given by Malvern House are extracts from integral immigration regulations as published by the UKBA. Please read the relevant information in its entirety and check for updates regularly. Malvern House is not responsible for any changes in immigration rules or for the outcome of a visa application.

If you need entry clearance, make your application well in advance.

EEA + Swiss students

If you are an EU citizen you do not need a visa to travel, study and work in the UK.

Non-EU Students

Malvern House is on the UKBA's Register of Sponsors (Highly Trusted Sponsor) and is able to provide documents for students to apply for a visa to study English in the UK.

Students under 18

  • The minimum age Malvern House accepts students is 16.
  • If you are 16 or 17 years old and want to study under the Tier 4 PBS system you must apply as an adult student - Tier 4 (General) student
  • You may apply as a Child Visitor if you are studying for up to 24 weeks.
  • You will need to supply an authorisation letter from your parents with your application. This letter must confirm that your parents (or legal guardians) are happy for you to live and to travel independently. We also need a letter from your host in the UK, unless accommodation is booked through us.
