Southampton Solent University

Southampton Solent University is on the South coast of England, around one hour from London, in the heart of a vibrant student city. The university has over 16,000 students including 1,000 from outside the UK. We welcome students from over 50 countries around the world and are funded by the British Government. Our degrees and diplomas are recognised in the EU and worldwide.

We are a modern university with many new buildings and facilities, and our courses are developed with employers and professional bodies to prepare graduates for global, professional careers.

The university offers Higher National Diplomas, Bachelors degrees and Masters degrees in a wide range of professional areas including business, art & design, media, law, computing, tourism, maritime and engineering, as well a range of English language study options.

Southampton Solent University is situated right in the heart of the city within easy walk of our Halls of Residence, the central parks and city centre shopping.

Our campus is a modern one, offering an airy and comfortable surrounding, with state-of-the-art facilities in our classrooms, library, IT centres, studios and workshops. There is a real international flavour on the campus and we attract people from all different lifestyles, cultures, countries and backgrounds.

We aim to equip you with everything you need to get the career you want. Our courses are always relevant and up-to-date thanks to our strong links with industry and business, so it's no surprise that our graduate employment rate is above the national average.

Our library and IT resources gives you access seven days a week to over 230,000 books, 600 PCs, 150 Apple Macs, the latest journals and DVDs as well as laptop hire and free Internet and e-mail.

The University provides a variety of other services to support you as a student and to help make your time here as trouble-free and enjoyable as possible. Our experienced staff offer advice on financial, health and careers. We offer study assistance, disability support and counselling if you need help.

And we have a very active Sport and Recreation service able to offer a wide range of sporting and recreational activities including our city centre Health & Fitness Suite, a fully equipped sports hall (accredited by the English Basketball Association) and our nearby Hardmoor Sports Ground. We also offer a sports massage service and a sports injury clinic and access to a range of outdoor sports including football, rugby, cricket, tennis and netball.
